Description:

The Practice Leader works closely with the Site Manager and Social Work Supervisors to provide professional leadership, influence and direction in order to maintain and enhance excellent social work practice. 

The successful applicant will have the ability to take a strategic focus for the site, and will have had experience at leading social work teams, facilitating the implementation of practice initiatives and leading practice improvement.  A sound knowledge of relevant legislation is a prerequisite.

This is an exciting opportunity for a person who has experience in leading and managing change, can demonstrate an ability to influence action in areas for which they have responsibility and resilience and ability to recover from setbacks and periodically work under unusual pressure.

Above all, you must have a commitment towards positive outcomes for children, young people and their families, and sensitivity towards Maori, Pacific Peoples and other cultures.

A relevant tertiary qualification in social work is essential and preference will be given to those who have current registration with the Social Worker Registration Board.
