The Tai Tokerau Service Centre, based in Whangarei, is seeking to appoint a Care Specialist to lead the improvement of care services and achievement of better outcomes for children and young people entering care.

The Care Specialist will promote best practice in the delivery of care services consistent with policy guidelines and standards. Experience in Care and Protection Social Work is a must; with the ability to develop strategies to promote and facilitate best practice and achieve permanency outcomes.

Applicants will have the following:

• A level B or level 6 Social Work qualifications on the NZQA framework
• Knowledge of current Social Work practice models, statutes and regulations that applies to care management.
• A commitment to children’s rights and participation in the decision making.

The salary range is $55,000 to $68,000.  Merit grading applies after $61,500. Starting point will be determined by the experience and skills brought to the position.
