Canterbury quake update
Child, Youth and Family’s Sydenham office reopens today, following Saturday’s quake in Christchurch, and support is being offered to local families and children. Also see the latest information for Child, Youth and Family Christchurch staff.
Canterbury quake update
From today, Child, Youth and Family’s Sydenham site will be operating, but other sites remain closed at this stage.
If you need help for your family, or are concerned about a child, the first thing to do is call our contact centre on 0508 ASK CYF (0508 275 293). Our contact centre staff will be happy to help, or link you in with local support and information services.
You can also talk to a social worker at the Sydenham Office from today, 7 September, at the corner of Eglin and Colombo streets.
We have called all our foster carers in the Christchurch area, and know everyone is unharmed. Over the next few days our social workers will also be following up, to see what other help families and children might need.
Welfare Centres
If you need urgent emergency assistance these Welfare Centres are open 24 hours.
