Nominations now open for William Wallace Awards 2012

02 May 2012

It’s that exciting time of year again, when we have the opportunity to nominate young people for the William Wallace Awards 2012. It’s a great chance to honour our young people, show we support them and help them reach their potential.

Any young person who is or has been in Child, Youth and Family care, and who is able to take up their award in 2013, is eligible.

You can download this year’s nomination form from our website. There’s also some helpful information on this page about making great nominations and an example of a completed nomination as a guide. You can also read about previous winners, and how the Awards have helped them pursue their dreams.

These awards honour exceptional young people in care and provide scholarships that help them pursue their dreams of tertiary, vocational or leadership training.

In the past six years, social workers, care partners and foster carers have done a fantastic job of nominating young people, and helped the Awards become a prestigious event.  Being nominated is a meaningful message to our young people that we support them, so please make a nomination.

Nominations for this year’s awards close on Friday 27 July 2012, and an award ceremony will be held during Foster Care Awareness Week in November.
