Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people?

Child, Youth and Family is establishing an exciting new behaviour-change programme for small groups of young people (aged 12 to 17) with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The programme will be delivered in a group home based in Whangarei.

You will be a mentor and a positive role model working one-to-one and in small groups to help these young people turn their lives around. You will be part of a team of care workers, social workers and other professionals working with the young people, their families and communities to create positive and lasting change.

We are seeking a number of applicants to fill care worker and senior care worker positions.

Care Worker
Care Workers provide mentoring, support and care for young people in the Home and oversee progress towards their individual goals. They deliver the structured behaviour change programme and organise and participate in a range of group and one-to-one activities with the young people.

Relief Care Worker
The relief care worker is available to relieve for care Workers on annual leave, sick leave or training leave.

Night Care Workers
Care Workers provide mentoring, support and care for young people in the Home and oversee progress towards their individual goals. They deliver the structured behaviour change programme and organise and participate in a range of group and one-to-one activities with the young people.

The Night Care Worker works 30 hours a week as follows:
Thursday 10:30pm – 8:30am Friday
Friday 10:30pm – 8:30am Saturday
Saturday 10:30pm – 8:30am Sunday.
