Te Puna Wai o Tuhinapo Youth Justice Residence is a secure residential facility in the Rolleston area. The facility delivers an innovative range of interventions. We are looking for people who have excellent interpersonal skills and are highly creative and motivated. You will need high levels of resilience and flexibility and a passion for working with youth.
CYF3957 Care Team - Social Workers
The residential environment provides a dynamic social work opportunity working with a challenging group of young people. We are committed to staff development and practice excellence. Your challenge is to work with youth on modifying their self defeating attitudes and offending behaviours and to create opportunities for lasting change in their lives. As a residential social worker you will work as of a dynamic team. You will have a demonstrated ability to build rapport with young people, and have a collaborative approach with colleagues and external stakeholder groups. You will require a social work qualification that is recognised by the Social Work Registration Board.
CYF3956 Care Team - Youth Workers
The residential environment provides opportunities for youth workers to work alongside young people to enhance their self and cultural awareness. We are looking for people with experience in working with challenging youth, who are self motivated and resilient with strong interpersonal skills. Your core daily duties focus on maintaining the educational, physical and psychological safety of young people in our care. Key elements of your role will also include participation in recreational and/or cultural programming. You do not require a formal qualification but you must have a passion for working with young people.
CYF3958 Casual Residential Workers
We are seeking interest from energetic, motivated people with experience in working with young people to join our pool of casual staff. Casual Residential Workers are called on to cover for Residential Social Workers and Youth Workers on an as and when required basis. Duties involve assisting with the provision of a supervised group living environment. The position would ideally suit those that have an interest in social work or youth work and may have partially completed a qualification towards this goal. The shifts available are 6.30am to 3.00pm, 1.30pm to 10.00pm and 10.00pm to 6.30am.
