Breaking the cycle of child abuse – Interagency guidelines

Let’s stop child abuse together – An interagency guide to breaking the cycle is available as a PDF file (849Kb) in the Related information box on the left-hand side of this page. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it.

This guide grew out of the focus on changes made to the Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Act in January 1995, relating to education about and the voluntary reporting of child abuse.

Many groups and organisations were involved in the extensive consultations which laid the foundations for this guide and many sections were adapted and extended in response to this input.
