Applications are invited for permanent positions based in the Whenuapai office, located at Henderson.

The Whenuapai site is committed to staff wellbeing and work life balance, therefore there is an opportunity for successful applicants to be appointed on a permanent part time basis (minimum 30 hours).

The role of a statutory Social Worker is to work with families and other organisations, to protect children and/or to ensure care and security for children in the care or custody of Child, Youth & Family. The preferred applicants will hold a Social Work qualification; however consideration will be given to applicants with qualifications in related fields.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of current care and protection processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Be culturally aware, sensitive to other people and their surroundings with the ability to competently manage self and workload, and be a committed team member
  • An ability to work cross culturally
  • Ability to work effectively with clients to achieve positive outcomes
  • Good computer skills
  • Hold a current, full time drivers licence
