Description:

Applications are invited for full time permanent Social Worker positions to join us in Takapuna Site office and Warkworth subsite office, but there may be an opportunity to move to Orewa office at a later date.

The role of the statutory Social Worker is to work with families and other organisations, to protect children and/or ensure the care and protection of children in Child, Youth and Family custody.

The preferred applicant will hold Level B or Level 6 on the NZQA qualification framework in Social Work or other relevant qualifications with emphasis on Social Work. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • A Level B or Level 6 Social Work qualification
  • Knowledge of current Care and Protection processes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Be culturally aware and sensitive to other people and their surroundings with the ability to manage self workload and be a committed team member
  • Knowledge of Te Reo or Tikanga Maori or Maori and Pacific Island skills and knowledge are an advantage.
  • An ability to work cross culturally
  • Ability to work effectively with clients to achieve positive outcomes
  • Good computer skills
  • A current driver’s licence (manual / automatic)

Salary range is $34,750 to $60,250.  Merit grading applies after $54,415. Starting point will be determined by the experience and skills brought to the position.
