Description:
Child Youth and Family is the statutory agency responsible for the care, protection and youth justice management of children and young people. We work with children, young people and families, many of whom have high and complex needs and issues.
The Invercargill Child Youth and Family Site currently has a vacancy for a Youth Justice Social Worker.
The ideal appointee should have a level B qualification in social work, but partial Social Work qualification will be considered. Induction into the role with ongoing supervision and training will be provided.
The successful applicants will have previous experience in the social sector with an understanding of statutory Social Work practice, be able to work effectively with children, young people and their families and have demonstrated resilience in previous situations. Interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a team, good oral and written communication with some computer skills, demonstrated networking with Maori and Pacific communities and a sense of humour – are all sought after attributes.
