Applications are invited for a part-time (24 hrs per week) permanent Social Work Supervisor position to join us in our South Canterbury Youth Justice team of Child, Youth and Family.  This position will be based in Timaru. We are seeking an experienced person to provide motivated and creative leadership to a team of Youth Justice Social Workers.  The role of the Supervisor is to manage and work alongside a team of Youth Justice Social Workers and other agencies to meet the care and protection needs and to reduce re-offending rates for South Canterbury young people. 

The Supervisor is a vital first line management position and we are looking for people who can demonstrate the following:

• A level 7 Social Work qualification on the NZQA framework
• Excellent knowledge of statutory Social Work and current Youth Justice and Care and Protection processes
• Leadership and management skills
• Strategic planning skills
• Experience at developing action plans either with staff or around a particular issue
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good computer skills
• A current drivers licence (Manual/automatic)
