High and Complex Needs Interagency Strategy

The needs of some children and young people are so complicated that they cannot be met by just one health, education or social service agency.

The High and Complex Needs (HCN) Interagency Strategy is about a way of working together across agencies and professional boundaries to improve outcomes for children and young people.

The strategy is a joint initiative of the Ministries of Health, Education, and Social Development through its service line Child, Youth and Family. It was developed to provide a coordinated response to meeting the needs of children and young people with high and complex needs, who are involved with two or more government agencies.
