Getting a social worker in your school

Where is the SWiS programme available?

The Social Workers in Schools service is focused on low decile schools and colleges, with a school role of 400-700 students.

It is currently run in 50% of decile 1-3 primary and intermediate schools and 20% of decile 1-3 secondary schools.

Schools wishing to have the SWiS service

The SWiS service is currently full, however decile 1-3 schools can still ask to be put on a register of schools who would like to have the service. Eligible schools will be notified if the service is expanded and advised of the process for selection.
