Getting a social worker in your school

Where is the SWiS programme available?
The Social Workers in Schools service is focused on low decile schools and colleges, with a school role of 400-700 students.
The map of New Zealand shows where the Social Workers in Schools programme is available.
It is currently run in 50% of decile 1-3 primary and intermediate schools and 20% of decile 1-3 secondary schools.
Schools applying to be on the SWiS waiting list
The SWiS service is currently full, but schools can still apply to be put on a waiting list. The school will be notified if the service is expanded, so that more schools can be taken on.
