Casual Night Attendants

Child, Youth and Family operates a Youth Justice residence, two Supervised Group Homes, and a care and protection residence across the Canterbury region. Our residential services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week providing programmes for children and young people aged from 10 to 17 years.  Our ultimate goal is to provide children and young people who come into our care with the best possible opportunities to achieve positive change.

We are looking for positive role models to join us filling both awake and sleep over shifts, working across our four sites on a casual basis.   Operating as part of a team your key focus will be attending to the night time needs of the children and young people in our care.

Ideally you will have experience working with children and young people , where your resilience, excellent communication skills and your ability to quickly build rapport with the children and young people in our care will see you succeed.

Casual staff need to be completely flexible and available when members of our care team are absent on either sick or annual leave.   This is a great confidence and CV booster for students looking to enter counselling, psychology or social science related work/study.

Be a part of a team that is making a difference!

Child, Youth and Family, a service of the Ministry of Social Development (MSD), recognises and has a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
